Let the blog wars begin. There is so much talk today of ‘blogging’. “Everybody’s doing it,” they say. So here I am, listening to our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI. So if this blog sucks, then blame the pope…. but just a warning, a lot of people try that approach and it doesn’t get them anywhere.
So, as an introduction to my blog, what is my point? I am going to attempt to write about my life as 1. a young man trying to be holy and Catholic in today’s world, 2. a seminarian, and 3. a means of providing some humor through my sardonic and sarcastic attitudes toward our humanity.
So there you have it. Now, if you are curious about the pope’s visit, and really want to know what it’s about, go to uspapalvisit.org and you can watch the ENTIRE videos and see what the pope said. If you want to go on thinking the pope is evil and has a secret agenda to make our lives miserable, then you can get your info at cnn.com.
I won’t always be talking about the pope on here. I am however, going to see Pope Benedict tomorrow in Yonkers and so I’m pretty excited. Besides, he is totally teaching our whole society how to love better! That’s what we need here in the U.S. I am now totally convinced that the media cares solely about ratings. They will stir up drama, and make all sorts of problems just to get people to watch their program. And they’re smart. They know that they need a conflict to capture interest. Only the never show solutions. We keep watching hoping for a solution, but it never comes. This pope is bringing a message of peace and togetherness. In easier language, he’s saying ‘guys let’s just get along and make sure that everyone in your town is living a decent life and let’s help them out if not. Let’s recognize that it is the same message Jesus preached. This will bring each of us ultimate fulfillment.’ Actually he said ‘Zis vill vring eahc ov uss….’ ya ya so I like his German accent. It’s funny, in a very holy way of course.
